Well, I feel between a rock and a hard place.
Okay, quick story to sum up the situation so far. No one ever told me what a W-4 did. I didn't know that the expemptions you claimed meant that was how much less they took out. And due to my complete misunderstanding of the damn thing, I've been claiming 2: one for myself and one because I'm single with one job.
So every financial decision, every budget I've made has been based on what I was making while claiming the two exemptions. And then this years taxes came up, and I was short $168, which means not only no refund, but now I gotta pay. And friends were less than sympathetic to my stupidity, and told me to go fill out a new W-4 for this year, with no exemptions. Which I did. I figured they wouldn't take that much more out overall.
Boy, does my naive stupidity know no bounds. -_-;; I got paid today, and I'm short $60 of what I'm used to. $60 = pretty much all the free money I ever have out of a paycheck nowadays. Free money = money that doesn't go towards food, gas, car payments, insurance, rent or utilities.
*waves sadly bye-bye to all movies, anime, comics, clothes, and eating out*
